We think forgiveness is weakness, but it’s absolutely not; it takes a very strong person to forgive.T. D. Jakes
“The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.”― Mahatma Gandhi
When you choose to forgive, you choose to let go of negative emotions of anger, resentment, and maybe depression. You give your heart a chance to heal from what you can’t control.
You get stronger when you accept the situation and decide to let go and move on. It’s only hard at that moment when you close your eyes and say you forgive someone. After that, your life just gets smooth, and a heavy burden is removed from both heart and mind.
To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you.– Lewis B. Smedes
“Throughout life people will make you mad, disrespect you, and treat you bad. Let God deal with the things they do, cause hate in your heart will consume you too.”– Will Smith
Every time you forgive a person, you gain new experience as you get to know more about yourself towards an attitude or a situation. It’s not easy to get stronger, and it’s not simple to just let go and forgive, that’s why it’s strength.
“Forgiveness is an act of the will, and the will can function regardless of the temperature of the heart.”– Corrie Ten Boom
“Take forgiveness slowly. Don’t blame yourself for being slow. Peace will come”– Yoko Ono
It takes time to be this type of a person because it takes time to be able to let go. How about you? Did you have to gather your strength and forgive someone lately? Was it hard at that time? Is it getting better and comforting with time?
